These community discussions aid the students in the creation of compelling lesson plans for and ultimately leading festival period offerings, as well as bi-weekly classes for the Creative Starts program.Īre you interested in learning how to be a leader? Do you want to push your comfort zone and try to be your best self? Do you want to learn how to find your drive and passion in the arts and beyond? Come join this cohort for examination of yourself and trying to pull yourself apart so you can cut yourself back together the way you want! One period a day they will meet with leadership faculty, where themes of leadership and community building are explored and developed. Includes participation in one intensive honing their skills in their chosen medium, participation in leadership in an art form they are unfamiliar with to build their resilience in novelty and expand their interdisciplinary understanding of art and its enhancement on their preferred focus. Campers looking for more responsibility and experience with teaching and leadership may be drawn to this cohort. The Apprentice Leadership Program is for 16 year old campers who missed their last summer last season, and any 15 year old campers this year who are interested in an elevated camp experience. The Festival periods will provide opportunities for Creative Writing, extra rehearsal time, comedy workshops, field sports and summer reading. Each Day the students will participate in dance warm ups and activities, theatre games, improvisation, character work, and vocal exercises. The group will work with a Theatre specialist, a Choreographer, and a Music specialist. Working with an established script this group will rehearse and perform a musical. Festival periods will provide opportunities for sports, art, impromptu performance art, and nature exploration. Each day this cohort will rotate between rehearsing the songs, choreography, and action of the play, creating the sets and props, and participating in Theatre Games and Beginning Improvisation. They will build props and simple sets for the performance. They will help devise the story and the songs for the show. Working with a theatre specialist, a music specialist, and an art teacher this group will create their own musical. We will make every effort to keep parents informed of any delays in service.īusses run on a standard schedule on Festival Day.
